In modifying my new van I ran into a problem, need advice,

Asked by D4supt May 20, 2018 at 12:35 PM about the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Question type: Car Customization

I have a brand new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica loaded. My question is when I
removed the center counsel between the driver and the passenger seat
there’s a box in there that controls the airbag module for the entire vehicle.
Should I worry about that module getting wet or being exposed out in the
open to something like spilled drinks or Chicago winter snow and salt? I don’t
wanna do anything to void my warranty but now that I’m gonna be stepping
over it or on it I want to know what my options are. Thank you

I would NOT want any electric component of vehicle exposed to water or humidity, it will lead to corrosion and a malfunction. I am not sure about your warranty terms and conditions, the one I have for my 2017 Mercedes E300 clearly says that any modifications made to the vehicle, that change the factory installation of any component, will void the warranty.
