Solved it: After entering the entry code on the
keypad located on the outside doorframe on
the 2017 Ford Fusion, pressing the 3 will
unlock all doors & trunk, pressing the 5 will
pop the trunk. This works if you press one of
those buttons within a certain amount of time
(I don’t know exactly how many seconds)
even after you open the driver door. I figured
out that when used the keypad to unlock the
car, I would grab the upper part of the
doorframe to fully open the door. My fingers
would sometimes inadvertently press the 5
key and the trunk lid would pop open. It took
me forever figure this out and quite by
accident too. One guy at the dealership was
aware of the 3 key unlocking all doors but had
no idea about the 5 key popping the trunk
