2017 Chevy Spark with low mileage - 21718 KM.

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In
I have a 2017 Chevy Spark with low mileage - 21718 KM. Just had service
done on it - winter tires put on, oil changed & rotors needed replacement.
Biggest repair bill I've had for this car so far. I was told by the Service attendant
that more work needs to be done in the Spring. Should I think about trading it
in, in the Spring or keep it?

Was this done at a dealership? If it was then ignore what the service writer stated, they are only in it for the money. Find a good independent shop for actual repairs that your vehicle might need. A 6 year old vehicle should not need much if it has been regularly serviced. It seems odd that with that kind of mileage that the rotors were bad, one of my rigs has over 100000 miles on it and still on the factory rotors, and it brakes true and straight, no shudder.

Thank you G A Arne. Yes this was done at the Dealership where I bought the car. I went in for a tire and oil change and came out with a $900.+ bill. I do feel that being a Senior and a woman that I am being taken advantage of. A similar thing occurred with my previous car at the same Dealership - same place I bought it. I was told that my tie rods had to be replaced and while I was waiting I heard another woman talking on her phone that she was going to be delayed because her tie rods had to be replaced. Very suspicious ... Sounds like they are running scams. So next time I buy a car I will go to another dealership - but how can you trust them? I will take your advice and see if I can find an honest, independent shop. Thank you again for your advice. Much appreciated. Diane, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
You need to find a good independent shop in your area, check with friends, the reviews of shops there are even some AARP approved shop out there. Dealerships are no longer a place where you take you car to get work done. I am a retired auto tech and even I have an independent shop that I use cause there are somethings I can no longer do. Be careful be safe out there.
