2017 Chevy Malibu- wont start

2 days ago I ran errands. Go back
to my car and it wouldn't start.
My daughter used jumper cables
and it started. Later that day I
had to leave, it wouldn't start.
Some lights come on and radio
just like it has started. Tonight
we bought a new battery. Haven't
put it in yet. I went to try starting
it again, lights came on and radio
but cant shut sunroof. Why did
this happen?

Was the battery the issue??? My car started out not wanting to start, just the click. After a few tries and a couple minutes it will. Then recently its started shutting off at a red light or when the auto stop is initiated- NOT EVERY TIME but at least every couple days.
