How can I fix the door over the gas cap that fails to open when I push the button on the door and when I pull the release in the trunk (unless I use a putty knife to open it at the same time)?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

To open the door over the gas cap, I have to pull the release in the trunk and then insert a putty knife behind the door.  Not really convenient!

Might need some lubricant, Try getting a light oil (WD40) and spraying it in the mechanism. Hopefully that could fee it up a little.
