Unknown dash symbol

Asked by Guru6KQHC Mar 28, 2020 at 08:29 AM about the 2017 FIAT 500

Question type: General

I have an automatic fiat 500, and I was driving
along today and it had a symbol on the dash that
said SHIFT with an arrow pointing upward. If I got
above 20, it would make a screaming noise and as
if I needed to change gears but I don’t have any to
change? I’ve just got the car about 2 weeks ago
aswell. I’m not good with things like this! I’ll just
drive it, anything else I haven’t a clue haha

On a stick shift this is telling you when to upshift the transmission for the best fuel economy. Hope that helps! Jim
