99 lincoln town car loosing power

Sometimes my 99 lincoln town car runs fine
but out of nowhere it will loose power like
its not getting gas and eventually stall out
and Sometimes it starts right back up and
others it won't start until after some time
passes but when it starts acting up I can put
it in neutral and play with the gas pedal and
build the rpm's up and go back into drive and
it will be fine
