Overdrive won't engage...What could the problem be?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
When driving, transmission works fine. The button on the end of the gear selector turns overdrive on and off. I have a flashing light that says "OD Off" When I press the button that engages it nothing happens. What could the problem be?
Thanks.

Sounds like an electrical problem with the trans. Have dealer run a transmission code scan to see what comes up.
you might want to try getting an idependant garage to look at it instaed of the dealer, the dealer charges alot to work to caddys, find a good local garage, in most cases they are just as qualified to work on your car than the dealer.
This sounds like an electrical problem. Kind of like my "CHECK AIR SUSPENSION" haha. I dont even have air suspension?!?! haha but yeah just go to some local garage and they'll check it out for you.
My car stays in overdrive at all times I have a 2006 lincoln town car signature does it suppose to do that.
Do stays off. What's wrong?
