Put a new battery in a car that had been sitting for a while. Cranked the first time, let it run for a little. Tried to back it out and it stalled like I new it would. Turned the key again and nothing

Check the engine ground cable, check for an open battery. I forgot to ask if the entire car is without power? if so see above and yes they make a lot of new bad batteries
