94 Lincoln Town Car Issues

Asked by WhiteLincolnTown94 Nov 27, 2017 at 12:29 AM about the 1994 Lincoln Town Car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 94 Lincoln Town Car. It just had a time up in April
and everything.
Problem #1
When I’m driving it and press the gas pedal down too fast
too far it makes the car start shaking. If the car is idle like
at a red light it shakes kinda like its jumping. And
sometimes it tries to lurch forward a little bit.
Problem #2
When I press the gas pedal down sometimes it starts
making a clicking noise I can hear and feel.
Any suggestions on what’s going on???

I am having the exact issue with my 94 town car. I have replaced spark plugs, and wires. We tested fuel, it read normal. Does yours backfire if you floor it?

You need to clean your mass air sensor right after your air filter. My 95 tc w/4.6 liter did all of that and cleaning mass sensor took care of it. Also check engine lite would illuminate with codes coming up as PO171 and PO 174 w/lean mixture on banks 1 and 2.
