Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just replaced the ac fan motor and the air door actuator. now the ac works great, blows
cold air. How ever now when i run the ac my car starts to overheat, and when i turn off the
ac the temp will go back to normal. anybody got an idea of what could be the problem
thank you.

Does it over heat while at highway speeds? Or only while in slow traffic or at idle? If only the later check that radiator fan is operating properly.

it only overheats when the ac is on doesnt matter how fast or slow im going. but once i turn the ac off the temp goes back to normal.
I would check the fan clutch first. Also are all the shrouds in place around the radiator? And is radiator full of coolant?

is replacing the fan clutch a big job?
No it's not that bad but if you not familiar with it or don't have proper tools or patience might be best to have a shop do it. With engine off grab your fan and give it a spin. It should only spin just a little maybe a third of a turn then stop. If it spins more than that it is bad and needs to be replace.
When did you replace your serpentine belt last. You may need a new belt.

My 96 Town Car is doing the exact same thing. Did you get yours fixed?
