Can someone tell me what this hose connected to my drive shaft is?

It appears to be leaking, looks like power steering fluid or transmission fluid

Should the cable be replaced if it is leaking or does it need a washer or gasket? Thanks

Unscrew it and look for an O ring or other seal. It has been years since I looked at one of these.

ok..will do, it looks like it a has a little bullet with an O ring, I will take a look tomorrow.

Yes, that's the speedometer cable. Unscrew the cable then remove the clamp that secures the gear assembly. When you remove the gear assembly you will find an "O" ring. That's what's leaking. Hope that helps! Jim
