Tan Light Fuse

I have a Mazda Protege 2003 and the fuse to
the dash and tail lights keeps blowing. I've
changed it several times and it will work for
a few minutes but then blows all over again.
I even put a bigger fuse in to see if that
would help but it blew out about 10 min
down the road. What could possibly be the
problem. And the transmission seems like it
isn't going into third gear. Could that have
something to do with it?

One problem at a time ,,, does the fuse blow when you use the brakes?
