What are the basic parts needed for routine maintenance?
1 Answer
every automobile has parts that are called "wearable parts" these are parts that are used up regularly and are expected to have to be replaced on a regular basis- some wear faster than others- brake pads and tires are the best examples of this- add things that wear slower, like brake rotors, shocks, clutch, fan belts, cam belts, spark plugs, ignition wires, etc.do not trust outrageous claims made by the manufacturer that your oil will last 50,000 miles (or whatever they claim these days to sell cars)- I remember when the Chevy Vega came out, GM claimed they had a lifetime air filter, and actually used a sealed filter housing! That didn't work out too well- are you planning on working on the car yourself? please be careful as even changing oil is a dangerous operation-
