first you have a clip you have to take out, simple thing to do is replace axle cv joint already on. anyway you dont use a pry bar,if done corectly will pull right out, axle that is,and will also be cheeper.also what side are u working on.

Yes, in some cases these are also bolted on, I have seen some that use a 3-bolt setup, and some that are stuck in and require a bit of prying. However, you are doing something wrong if you broke two pry bars already. The key is to pry gently where the large portion of the inner joint meets the transmission. It's best if this can be done from below, like on a lift. If not, you will have a much harder time of it.

I replaced both front axles in my 96 Probe GT. Jack up the front of the car, put it on jack stands with the jack stands under the lower control arm rear bushings. take off the wheel, then unbolt the strut from the hub. This will allow the hub to swing out so you have enough room to pull the axle out of the trans. There is a clip on the end of each axle in the trans, but you can't just take it off as its inside the trans. You have to pull the axle out of the trans, which can be quite difficult. I found after searching online, if you pry with a large standard screwdriver/prybar, and hit with a hammer on the cylinder on the axle shaft right outside the part where it connects to the trans, it'll help jar the clip loose enough for you to pull the axle out. It helps to have another person help you (one prying/pulling, one hittinh). Don't be afraid to pry/pull hard, especially if you're not just temporarily taking the axle out, but replacing it, and be prepared for when it does come out to fall back or hit ur hand on something under the car. It hurts, it sucks, but if you pull/pry hesitantly, you prolly won't get it out. If you need any more help, try http://forums.probetalk.com

if you have access to an air hammer jus put a chisel tip on it and CAREFULLY hammer on the inner part of the axle toward the outside of the car should pop right out if not keep usin a pry bar if need be try to tap on the end of the bar with a hammer either way it should come out check and make sure there is not a mount to the engine if its the passengers side
