Overheating engine

I have a 2001 mazda protege.  It is overheating.  I just had a thermostat installed what
could be the reason that it is overheating?

you didn't say if it was overheating before the work you had done, but make sure that the cooling system is full and that all the air is out of it. you can google how to burp a cooling system. if that isn't the problem, it could be the water pump, radiator, and worse case scenario, a head gasket. lets hope not.
