How do you check the transmission grease in a 2000 Mazda Protege manual
transmission - where are the two bolts locqated?

I should check but manual transmissions do take a heavy oil...in 93 it was 80W-90 hypoid gear oil was used on the manual transmissions...quite certain that yours has this or today's ilk---grease is for bearings~ you should double-check the owner's manual to make sure the judge isn't being incorrigible~

"Loquated? like the orange fruit that grows on California trees? Which two bolts are you speaking of? the drain plug at the bottom (as you know grease could never drain through a plug) and the fill hole which correct level is achieved when you can fill to where you can touch the fluid~

will need a positive pressure pump as it is very difficult to get up in there with an oil quart, but must "Pump it up" into the transmission case~
