Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Good Day
I have a mazda 626 2.0 16v that I recently changed the head on and noticed that when I drive the car and press the accelerator it feels like is has pressure in it and takes long to rev up. When I press the gas padel right dorn the car builds up speed but takes a while then it moves fine after it has reached the 5000 rpm mark. There is no engine light on.

Is the catalytic converter plugged? there should be a good flow of gases coming out of that tailpipe-
