Hi Tpayne, Today even I have noticed same issue where display screen is blank and works only with my reverese cam. Do you find the solution for this issue.

If it is a 2018 vehicle, it will be under warranty (unless you exceeded 36K miles which is very unlikely). Just take it to the dealership and have them figure it out and fix it for you under warranty.

I also have a 2018 Rogue and this just happened to me this evening. I went through all the owners manuals thinking maybe a fuse, but found no answers. Googled problem and found this forum. Back up cam still works, however, takes about 5 seconds to now come on after being put in reverse. Radio still plays and can change stations and volume from steering wheel, but cannot make or receive telephone calls, send or receive texts or use navigation system. Screen will say “Nissan Connect” when vehicle initially starts, then it disappears and goes to black screen. Sounds like a service call is in order for a repair, and it’s not a fuse or anything I’ve done to cause the problem. What was the “actual problem” the service department found to be causing this, and what “part/component” needed to be replaced? Was it a relatively quick, easy fix? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

So we just bought ours last night and the display issue happened while the car was being detailed. It came on fine this morning (we have a service appointment for Saturday) without any intervention, but I am curious if anyone (that has reset theirs) has the issue happened again since you did the reset?

Bless you for this answer. I’m driving a rental and the screen went out and I was about ready to freak out that it wasn’t going to work

That worked for me too. I had been on the phone with two dealerships and Nissan Connect and neither could tell me to do this. Pretty sad they cant help their customers on these issues but a perfect stranger can.

So, the reset did work for us on our 2019 Rogue SV as I stated above, but the dealership GM contacted the Southeastern regional service guru and they determined that the unified meter (computer that controls the displays) should be replaced to prevent this from occurring again. We just got it back so I will update if the problem re-occurs. As a side note if you are still under warranty and your dealership agrees to this replacement insist that you be given a loaner as this “meter” also controls your odometer and the new part will be programmed to the mileage on the vehicle when they order the part as dealers cannot program this themselves. If you do not park the vehicle while the part is being programmed and sent for replacement you will be missing miles and have a true mileage unknown odometer.

I had my 2018 Rogue at the dealership already for this issue. My back up camera also freezes when I’m in reverse and it looks like nobody is there and all of the sudden it will start working again and I’ve almost hit other cars twice now because of this. The dealership told me that my car didn’t generate any codes when this happened so just to keep driving it until it gets worse. The other day it did it again. Screen was completely black and nothing would work. Called the dealership and I’m to take it in tomorrow but if it doesn’t generate a code they said Nissan won’t let them replace the whole screen and components because it’s a $3800 part. I also had a problem with the black plastic chipping off of my back bumper and car only has 7,000 miles and they won’t do anything about this either. I’m thinking I don’t ever need to buy another Nissan in my lifetime if this is how they handle warranties!

Trista, have you attempted the reset procedure described above? If so take it to the dealership. If not here they are again. With ignition on or off (doesn’t matter) press the power button and hold it for 30 seconds or until it reboots (usually only takes 20-25 seconds). If this doesn’t work the other knob should have a button as well usually labeled as the OK button. Press them both at the same time and hold as previously described. Hope this helps.

Thank you all Nissan Rogue guys and gals. Purchased 2019 rogue 2 weeks ago and my screen went black yesterday. Thought I would have to make trip to dealership. All fixed now. Power on and ok did it. It seems just like on our iPhone a bug. Also breaking happens when backing near post/ column, This is no Tesla, these safety features are good till we get used to them. They can only improve in time. Many thanks.

Thank you so much! I’m driving a rental (2019 Rouge) and although the screen has worked fine for the past week, when I stared the car this morning the screen was black. I looked it up and found this forum. Holding the power button alone didn’t work for me. As one of the comments instructed, I had to hold the power & OK buttons at the same time for 30 secs and it came on! Thanks so much!

Holding ok and power button worked on 2019 Nissan Kicks.

It worked for my 2018 Nissan Rogue when my radio just stopped producing sound even when I could see the volume bar moving. Held radio button down at same time as OK. Sound came back!

Thank you!!! Worked today on my 2018 Nissan Rouge! I'm wondering if I am having an issue with my unified meter as well though because my gas gauge only shows 300 miles when I completely fill up my vehicle.

I have recently purchased a 2019 Nissan Altima. My volume control on the steering wheel works fine but the knob on my screen has a glitch and when turning it up and it will make the volume jump up and down. Has anyone had this problem or know how I can fix it?

Will this work for the navigation screen? I still get the voice commands but the display is frozen on a map of North America??

WOW! I googled that I wiped my screen with a wet wipe to get all the finger prints off and the touch screen stopped working in my 2018 Nissan Rogue. It brought me here. I tried the ok and power button to reset it and it WORKED!!! Thank you so much!!!

I took my 2018 Rogue SL to dealer to have new tires and brakes put on. Picked the car up and the touch screen would not work. Drove straight back to dealer, and they said I need a new one and I had to pay $3000. I told them I had the extended warranty, said he had to call to verify in three days and he would call me back. I got home and searched on google and I found this site. Mark , Thank you , I did like you said and it worked great. To bad the dealership didnt know about the reset. Steve

This same issue of my screen going out happened to me with my 2018 Nissan Rogue SV. Since I bought the extended warranty, I hope it would cover. Of course when I got there it was "working" again. I explained to the dealer that it went out 2x and I actually had a recording of it. They told me that there was an update to fix this issue but it was $60. I asked him why I have to pay for an update that the maker knows is an issue and he just said it was the way it was. As you can see in the picture from my service, they updated the navigation screen from version 154 to 810. It was working fine when I left and I will update this if I have the same issue again. Also want to point out I had a safety issue with the car where the gate would open but automatically just close itself. The fix was they recalibrate the back door. They did not charge me for this.

Guys it dose work with the power bottom and the play button but u do not have to hold the okay button too just hold the power button it will work as well to reset ur stereo. Unless I did it wrong but my stereo turned blank and displayed the Nissan symbol and kept resetting until I released the buttons my problem is that it got stuck on the Nissan welcome symbol during start up and my sunroof is acting up it will almost close and open back up on its own I know about the safety system so no one get their fingers smashed but it’s not that I can hold the bottom that’s the only way it will close. But it stops an closes an little stops and like that until it closes stop and go
