Dear jdawn-- If you only see one dipstick it generally means that you system is sealed and the transmission fluid is meant to last the lifetime of the car. For more information about your 1992 Mazda 323, call the following number. They will tell you everything and more- 1-800-373-LUBE (5823). Good luck from Bovan.

is it a manual transmission? the manuals don't have a normal dip stick, it uses fill plugs on the underside of the trans, and you will use some type of gear lube not trans fluid. and no trans fluid will last the life of a car, dosent matter who builds the car.

Hi, speedometer driven gear works as dipstick. Disconnect the speedometer cable and remove the speedometer driven gear. Lower level is at center of gear and "full" at top of the gear. As attachment there is picture of 323 BG manual, but it should be same way in your car.
