My lights have been going off and on at night while driving, why?

That normally means a bad relay in the headlamp switch, although it can also mean a short in the wiring that is tripping the breaker and it is resetting itself. Either way, take it to a shop and have it checked out.

hello chrissy33.i have a 2003 mercury sable.i was beginning to think it was haunted the first thing it did was if when i went out to leve if the dome light on i was fine if no dome light i dont care if i jumped it put different battery car was not gonna start then it went to start car just fine turn on my headlights my car would die i have a mech friend and after about 6 mo i told him what it was doing he got a wiring diagram from work under the hood on drivers fender there are 2 seperate screws they were lose the were the grounds who would of ever thought good luck to you
