What is Box under trunk !

What is the black box attached under trunk? It can
unbolted and began dragging, my mom zip ties it
up but check engine light on

post a photo. Maybe it's part of the EVAP system and that is why she is getting a code and the CEL is on.

Probably the charcoal canister for the EVAP system. But a picture would be helpful for identification. Jim

Has to be the charcoal canister. It might've damaged the hose that attaches to it or made a hole on it when it was scrapping the pavement.
