Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1987 chevy K20. The hotwire going to the fuel pump only has half power(dim light). It wont start unless keep putting gas into the throttle body and only does it start for a quick minute.

you only have power to the pump for 3 seconds after turning the key on , test the purple wire ,while somebody turns the key , you should see 12 v . , if thats the case you need to change the fuel pump & filter.
