Eclipse Cross Voice Control issue- Mute Microphone

Asked by Gabriela Dec 17, 2018 at 07:35 PM about the 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Question type: General

Got a new  2019 Eclipse Cross Voice Control never worked from first day! -
When I have Bluetooth on, the buttons of Voice Cobtrol (in the wheel and in
the multimedia) doesn’t work at all (no response at all) - When iPhone is
connected by cable (and so the Apple CarPlay is on), the buttons turn on the
voice control, BUT, the Microphone is MUTE! Same if someone calls and I
answer, they hear nothing from me, MUTE MOCROPHONE! If I then go to
settings (in the cars multimedia) - microphone - turn to the OUTER
MICROPHONE- and then turn it back to the INNER MICROPHONE, then it
works!!! Only by cable/Apple CarPlay microphone stops being mute. But I
would have to change microphone settings everytime I turn on the car, and it
would anyway never work only trough Bluetooth only (no cable) Something is
WRONG WITH MY CAR!!! What is this problem???? Guys from Mitsubishi
doesn’t know what’s wrong. I tried to reset multimedia setting, turned off and
on and reset Bluetooth connection a zillion times, and NOTHING solved this
issue! I just never had this Voice Control working, and I cannot even answer
phone calls because I obviously didn’t turn the microphone off and on
everytime I turn on the car! Somebody PLEASE HELP ME!

I'm going through the same thing! I bought this 3 weeks ago. The dealership didn't have an answer for you? Aren't we under warranty!?

Same on my 2018 model, I am in touch with the dealer. I found somewhere there is a firmware update, which will be done on mine on Wednesday. Otherwise, they keep telling me "that's the way it is...". Not satisfied, and I am pissed at myself for not checking before I purchased. I think the dealer should let their customers know when a firmware update is available, it fixes other issues as well, and trust me, I have plenty minor issues that make me rethink my decision to buy a Mitsubishi.

I had the same issue & the dealer couldn't help. I found instructions on the internet which got me into the back end of the audio set-up and I was able to switch the microphone set- up from passenger (left) side of car to the driver (right) side. Never had a problem since ... and was told off by the dealership that I should be going into a part of the system that is meant to be for the tech gurus (who couldn't find the answer). Can recall what I googled but found a utube clip that guided me through the update.
