Car is squeaking and loud today it just stopped

Hi I've been having trouble with my car. I've been
having to jump it to get it to start and today while in
line at a fast food restaurant it stalled and wouldn't
start. I got it pushed to a parking spot, let it sit with
the hood open for a good 20 mins. Went to start it
again and it started. The lady said she thought it
was my belt, but would it start if it was my belt? I
had the starter replace in January. We got home
thank goodness, but scared to drive it again. Any
ideas?

Thank you Tom!! I don't have extra or any $ right now to get it looked at that's why I came here. I appericate the help. I'll look up a video on pulleys. Thank you, Shannon
