how to take the battery cables off of a 1998 mercury villager

Remove the negative cable from the battery first. Always disconnect the negative first and replace it last to prevent sparks. Remove the negative cable from the body or engine end. Clean up the area with a wire brush and install the new negative cable. Leave the negative wire off of the battery for now until the positive cable is replaced.
