What engines would go in a 1988 Mazda B2200?

Question type: Car Customization

Currently has a blown engine, but originally a 2.2l
manual, carbed. I've seen a lot of people mention
putting 4.3 vortec engines in, and some ballsy
people go for chevy v8s. Looking for whatever
easiest solutions there are, know I'll probably have
to match whatever transmission to the engine as
well.

Look for a donor Ranger/Mazda B series with a V6 from around your year truck.

They didn't start making bseries identical to rangers until 1993, from my understanding they were pretty seperate until that point. Would a ranger v6 still fit?

I have a 89 Mazda B2200 same like ur 2.2l 5 speed, carbed I eventually going with a Ford 5.0 or 300 straight 6 in it but for now I am needing help finding out what motor will to the mazda 5 speed tranny before the year 93 when they changed everything and the rangers becam the same as the Berries pickups

Sorry about not answering ur question and we are kinda doing the same so I thought I might butt in and ask for a lil info to help me also and say I have everything for the 2.2l but a complete head and my block needs built but everything else is basicly new u can use or need
