1991 Mazda B2200 in 5 speed

Question type: General

I have a B2200 with a 5 speed transmission. There is no mention of it in any reviews I can find. Seems to be the standard 85hp engine. The odometer is just rolling to 130,000 miles and still running strong. Any reason why the 5 speed would not be mentioned?

I have a 92 B2200 that is still going strong also. and as you have said, I too could not find any reviews on it. But I have run into a lot of ppl where I work as I work in a Parts Store, that either have or had a B2200 and have given me a lot of info on the truck

I own an '89 b2200 with the 5 speed. It economically got me through high school, college, service protects, moving tons of stuff (literally), and is my daily driver work truck. Personal review, it's an excellent mini truck. You're not likely to win any races or tow much with it, but it will reliably run for many years if maintained.

I have a 1991 B 2200 with 5 speed. Bought it with 67,000 miles. It now has 196,000 miles. It looks great and will cruise down the Interstate at 75 mph turning just over 3100 rpm as smooth as silk. I did have the engine overhauled at 138,000 miles due to excessive oil consumption. The mechanic told me that they came from the factory with chrome piston rings that just would not hold up for high mileage. He replaced with titanium rings. Now I will add a quart in about 4000 miles. I use AMSOIL lubrication products in the crankcase, transmission and differential. I use AMSOIL Signature Series 10W30 Synthetic Oil and Amsoil Filter with an oil change interval of 15,000 miles. The gear box is original and shifts very smoothly. My personal guideline is "if it breaks, fix it". Don't let an older vehicle get ahead of you for repairs.
