1994 mazda B4000 clutch or tranny issue

Asked by B4000 Jan 12, 2017 at 10:27 PM about the 1994 Mazda B-Series

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

a few days ago my truck had issues with shifting
into gear. i had to force it into gear. got the truck
home and parked. next day i couldnt shift into gear
at all while the truck was running. with the truck
not running i can shift into gear with no problems.
but if i try to start it in gear the starter turns once to
fire up and the truck lurches ahead but wont fire up
or keep turning the starter. im at a loss as to what
the issue is. hoping there is a way i can fix myself.
no money to take it into a shop. any advice would
be appeciated

Its your clutch slave cylinder. I would check the master cylinder first cause you don't have to pull the trans for that. That being said just like tennisshoes said if you pull the tranny than its good to replace the clutch kit too some of the clutch kits come with the slave cylinder so look into that. Sorry boss its a time-consuming job.
