TRANS/FINAL DRIVE/TORQUE CONVERTER REMOVAL FROM ENGINE

Asked by Guru6ML7Q Apr 09, 2020 at 11:31 AM about the 1970 Volkswagen Type 3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

DO I unbolt final drive from engine BEFORE I unbolt TORQ CONVERTER ?

1 Answer

I put engine on floor with the automatic trans and final drive supported by my motorcycle jack under them and after removing the 4 bolts (with starter) just slid back the final drive and trans which left the TORQUE CONVERTER on the drive plate, Then removed the torque converter. It was easier than I thought. Thanks, VW PS they call me VW here in SEGUIN, TX.
