2004 Montero Sport Driver Side Brake Light Doesn't Work

Driver Side Brake light doesn't come on when pedal depressed. The light is on when the headlights are on but doesn't glow brighter when pedal depressed. I have checked the bulb, fuse and the brake light switch, all are good. The passenger brake light works fine.

In most cars it's two separate filaments. Typically the brighter filament fails first (higher temperatures, etc). Replace the bulb, it's bad
Hey Mark...this is a tough one. Bulb is in fact a dual filament. I replaced it with a like bulb and also swapped it with the passenger side bulb and the problem stays on the driver side.... loose wire or connector? Any online sources for a free wiring diagram? Or do you think its time to take it to the shop?
You could find which wire is under load when pedal pressed and run a wire from the other brake light. A multi meter on volts or a test light. Just don't shock your self :) the multimeter on ohms is a good way to check for a bad wire too. FYI most vehicle are 12 volt systems. So lowest volt setting when checking and need a buddy to press brake pedal.
