Near new Armada won't start.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
2019 Nissan Armada won't start. 25k miles , well maintained vehicle. Battery
light is on, but is there a way to tell if the issue is the alternator or the battery?
It can be jumped and driven but dies again after a few days.
Nissan says neither alternator nor battery covered by new car warranty.

Why are they not covered under warranty? I just downloaded the 2019 Nissan Warranty Booklet and it basically says the whole vehicle is covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Call Nissan Customer Service. It sounds like your Dealer doesn't like doing warranty work! My local Chevrolet Dealer is like that! Warranty work is almost always a fight!! Hope that helps! Jim
Places like AutoZone or Advanced can check the battery and alternator while it's running. I'd jump it off and drive to one of those places and test it. Another at home alternative would to put a multimeter on the battery while it's running. You should see 14V+ if the alternator is charging. A good old school test is to take a long screwdriver and see if the end of the alternator shaft is magnetized while running. This, of course, can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.
Sir your info is not correct. Nissan factory warranty is 3 years 36,000 mi and that warranty covers anything and everything other than general maintenance and stuff like brakes. Honestly Nissan is going through a big problem with the push button start and the charging system which is killing the battery. I just sent back a 2018 Nissan Armada on the Florida lemon law. Nissan had to buy the vehicle back because just like yours too many times it would not start. Something else that is very indicative of a bigger issue is the fact that I want to replace the 18 with a 19 Armada SL. I was about to sign the paperwork to make a deal and happened to glance on the back page of the Carfax and see a funny looking triangle symbol which indicated that Nissan had already done a buyback on this second vehicle for exactly the same issue that I sent my 18 back for!! It sucks for me because I've had three Nissan Pathfinders one Armada and a Nissan two- door car. I am a Nissan man through and through and that's all I want again but this push button start issue is a big problem. I would really like to speak to someone from Nissan corporate so that they can do more for me with my situation trying to get a new one. Yes they bought the old one back and they gave me a check but for all I went through and all I'm going through it's still not enough but I took it because better than nothing. It's because Oh people like me that that company thrives and should be willing to do more to get me into a new vehicle. Even still I'm scared because I don't know if they got the issue resolved! #nissanmotorcorpshoulddobetter
