My 2001 Galant will start but will not stay on.

The service engine light is on as well, Full tank of gas....battery is good, and all other systems work fine.  It will stay on if I keep my foot on the gas to keep it idle.

Fuel pressure regulator or fuel filter is where I would start. It could be other things too like: fuel injectors, cam position sensors ect.

I changed my valve cover gasket and c02 sensors never had a problem since

Also look at the throttle position sensor or the throttle plate itself(butterfly). If its dirty clean it with carb cleaner.
