Starting issues

Asked by Chandell Feb 27, 2017 at 07:44 PM about the 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Earlier today I was trying to jump another car, my
montero ran perfectly fine. I shut it off, without
even thinking, before my husband could unhook
the cables. Now my montero will not start. Getting
juice, all the fixings work, just won't start. Double
checked it was in Park all the way, and like I said it
had been started and running just fine. PLEASE
HELP

Check for blown fuses, it might've created an electrical spike and blew the fuse

When you crank the engine does it turn? Does it "sputter" or just crank with no fire. If you turn the key off and wait 10 minutes and turn the back to the "run" but not enough to crank, do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds as it pressurizes the fuel system? Does the check engine come on?
