My 91 festiva still runs, but there is oil all over my engine. What is happening?

You said I probably have major blowback from a worn engine.  Does this mean
it is unfixable or not worth it?

Your car as it is is worth maybe $200. A used engine installed would be at least $1,000 and probably a lot more. You can do the math.

Could have a very bad cam cover gasket also.
