The srs light and the check engine light came on in my car. At the same time the transmission only has reverse, neutral, and third gear. What’s wrong.

start by scanning for codes and getting the definition(s) , not familiar with srs

srs is the safety restraint system. It just baffles me at how both of those lights came on and then the transmission started acting weird at the same time. I crunk my car, put it in reverse, it went in fine, put it on drive and it didn’t engage. Did this several times and it finally went into gear. The problem though is it’s only operating in third. It takes off in that gear and won’t go into overdrive.

coincidence can happen , the computer runs everything I guess even in an earlier model , you may have to take it to the dealer , this is why I drive a 94 gmc pick up
