2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Asked by Guru6Q3MT Mar 27, 2020 at 12:48 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's got 202500 miles on it.
It was driving fine on Monday and wasn't driven until today
when "check hybrid system" came on.
I drove it today and it doesn't show it's charging.

What could possibly be the problem?

I had the same issue. I went to Harbor Freight & Tools and picked up a code reader, and wiped out the code so the warning lights are no longer on the dashboard. The car drives perfectly fine after that. I found that this happens when sitting too long in a drive-thru or heavy traffic with the A/C running. It uses up the Hybrid battery (gets low), when the engine kicks on to charge it, it shorts out and the Check Hybrid System lights come on. Everything else should be working fine through this all.
