What's wrong with my car?

I was driving and I had to turn on a stret
light. All of a sudden the steering wheel was
very stiff and he car was going straight but I
managed to force the wheel one way so o
could turn. Then along the road, the car was
pushing itself sometimes like it didint want to
keep going.
