2003 Nissan Murano

Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I have my eye on a 2003 Murano. Funds being what they are for me (minimum at best), this car is priced right at $2600. It has 87,000 on the od and, it looks to be in great shape. My qusetion is reliability. How reliable are they? And, does the AWD perform well in the snow? It seems well worth the asking price. Any help anyone can give will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Chris, I just joined Car Gurus, so sorry for the slow answer to your question. I have owned a 2004 Murano SL (front wheel drive only), bought new and still love it. Very reliable, have 148,000 miles as of Feb 2012 and plan to keep it forever. Regarding the snow, I have gone to Taos skiing several times and never had any problem in the snow. One time from a take off in the parking lot up on the mountain, I was in a slick spot and could not get traction, but solved the issue by simply rolling back (was on a slight incline), stopped and then was able to drive right through the slick spot. Drove on snow packed roads in the mountain during a snow storm and never had any problems. Best wishes!
2600??????? Who cares how good it is? Not to mention they are awesome vehicles (if you maintain them) That is 5000 dollars back of its true value. BUY IT if its lousy sell it for a profit! You'll love it! - Mike Nissan Asst service mgr.
Don't do it! Unless you are mechanically inclined. Do a search of all known problems. Bad reputation! They look awesome, but have lots of problems. Owner of a 2004 Murano.
