daughter spilled a slushie in gear shifter - now stickie anything i can do ?

i cleaned up best i could but the drink (slushie) got down into area can't reach
- now gear shifter is rough and feels stickie whenever i change gears. Any
suggestions how to help this out ? or fix it ?

@Clarence, Tom is referring to the center console as shown in the video I posted above.. this would mean a deconstruction of the shifter panel/console, cleaning and whipping all the parts. The video goes into more detail. I mean there isn't a true easy fix in this instance.. No spray cleaner would do the trick and get into those hard to reach places. Would be a good family project to tackle..
