why does my check engin light only come on when use cheap gas,

When I by cheap gas it goes o an stays on, when I use chevron gaa it goes off, also what
is the  flashing DTE light???

cheap, as in low octane, has less oil. check your cars manual for the proper type of fuel to put into your car as some require higher octane fuels in order to function properly.
