Possible Ignition Control Module, or coil. You can take them off and have tested at Auto Zone. Heat can affect these items when there starting to go bad.

Well I just changed out the ignition control module and the coil but the problem still continues I guess the next thing I can try is the cam and crank sensor I just have to locate them to change them out anybody have the diagram of the location of the sensors ?

Was the ICM or the coil bad? Don't be just throwing monies at this...Have things tested first, diagnose the problem.

My auto zone guys are not very helpful so I found the parts online pretty cheap I just figured it's a older car so putting new parts on it wouldn't be a bad thing plus I am learning as I go along

Thats ok then and is justified to do so. One thing you may want to check would be the fuel pressure, but put a new fuel filter in first.

It was the distributor after replacing it everything is A O.K.

Glad you gotter fixed. The distributor would have a new ICM & pick-up coil.
