When my gas light comes on, how many miles approx. do I have to get to a gas station?

That all depends on the driving. But to put it a little easier, when that light comes on you have about 7-10 Liters (about 2-3 gallons), in some models. I have seen this not work until you are out, and I have seen the light come on when the tank is at a quarter. Remember your fuel gage is your least relible gauge, to get a longer life out of your fuel pump dont let your tank go below 1/4, as the fuel keeps the pump "cool". and if you never let you tank go below 1/4 you should never run out...... kind of. So to answer your question, lets say your car get 25MPG, your light comes on (you have 2 gallons left), you should be able to go 50 miles, providing you are not in stop and go traffic/hills or racing, as these all lower your fuel milage. So if your light is on figure you can safely go 30 miles. I know this is a little long, but I hope it helps.
2 gallons, but you do not want to run out of gas in a fuel injected car,
How meney miles dose aGs300 let us get to a gallon
Thanks for your posts, I drove my 2005 RX330 in excess of 30 miles home today passing one gas station after my light came on figuring I had at least a couple of gallons. Well I made it to a local gas station in my home town. Granted I put 17.33 gallons in my 16 gallon tank, so I probably pushed my luck going past the other gas station the last 7 miles to my favorite station. (*Posted this Tuesday, October 6, 2015)
