how good does this car hold its value?
im looking into buying this car and it has 36,000 miles on it but i am concerned about how long it will hold its value for. i will be using it to commute to work 2-3 times a week. my commute is roughly 50 miles one way.

Lexus holds its value better than any other luxury brand and the IS is no exception. Of course you're looking at Lexus' entry level car so you'll be able to buy it for less than some of its larger, more luxurious counterparts but you'll also have to sell it for less when that time comes. The more miles you put on it the more it will drop the resale value, but hey, if you bought a comparable BMW, Mercedes, Audi or Acura you'd be putting just as many miles on it and would see a steeper decline in its resale value. The IS is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable entry level, luxury car that will hold its value well.
My 2006 IS 250 held its value very well. No problems with the car at all. And it still looks like a newer car because the body style hasn't changed drastically.
