when I go up a grade, my gauges and dash sensors go crazy. Why?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 lexus ls 430.  Whenever I go up a grade my rpm gauge goes up and down and all my sensors on the dash light up.  When I pull over and turn off the car for a few minutes.  It's fine.  I took the car in twice to the lexus dealer. They replaced the chip twice and still can't find the problem.  It worries me when I have to drive on my long distance trips up a grade.  It only happens whenever I go up one.

Sounds like a short which may only be grounding out when the vehicle is going up a grade. I can't believe the chip would cause the issue repeatedly if it has already been replaced. Suggest having them look for a short in the wiring harness.
