Brake lights won't go off.

Are you sure you unplugged the stop light switch? There are two of them..one is brake lights and the other is cruise control off switch. Check with this, it will get bigger, and if you got the wrong one the problem may be with a stuck switch afterall
Used info from other answers for this. I think my idea is the simplest. You will need a wife, a broom handel, a small square of sheet metal and some selicone caulk. Put some caulk on one side of sheet metal piece and start the car. You get under the dash and have your wife push the brake pedal down with the broom handle. Pedal will travel farther with car running and will create a gap between the button and bracket. While she holds pedal down slip the small metal piece into the gap with caulk side towards bracket. Button will hold sheet metal in place while caulk dries. Just thought of this. Instead of sheet medal you could use a penny. I hope you can follow this because I spent an hour trying the bolt route. This took 30 seconds. By the way, some wives bring their own broom handle to the marriage!
