How do I deactivate the security system on my 1999 Pathfinder? It is causing my battery to die beacuse the back lights over the license plates are continually on

Asked by courtneybhall Jan 10, 2012 at 06:58 PM about the 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As I open my care door the security system blinks red and a beeping noise occurs. It has taken me a few weeks to figure this out but my battery keeps dying, as I get it jumped the alarm starts going off and I have had to learn how to deactivate before it will charge to start. It hasn't occured for two weeks until today and I have noticed that The lights remain on over the license plate.
