would a iginition switch be a big pain to replace and can you get a used one

It's not so tough, may need a steering wheel puller though~

easy cheesy, but some labor would definitely need at least a case of soda to do this job.

the key assembly and the switch assembly are two completely different creatures FYI~
I changed the ignition switch on my sentra '95 some years ago. You need some screwdrivers and that's all. The switch from the dealership cost me 50$, here in Canada. If you're really into saving money and no parts are broken, you can dissasemble it and add copper shims where it's worn off (that's usually the problem)
