Water leak

Asked by Alex Jun 05, 2016 at 07:46 PM about the 1994 Nissan Sentra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have an old 1994 Nissan Sentra.  My mechanic says it has a slow water
leak, but we can drive it as long as it has enough water.  My question is:  Do
you need distilled water or can you use tap water to replace the water?
Thanks.

Distilled water and 50% of the proper antifreeze would be preferred. You can buy premixed 50/50 coolant at parts stores and Walmart. I would not put plain water in it.
