Remove automatic running boards 2021 4Runner Nightshade ?

Can you remove the automatic running boards on a
2021 4Runner Nightshade - and replace with the
predator steps instead??

Unfortunately I did ask 4 dealers in my area :-( none are clear whether they can or not - I was hoping someone else has attempted this for reference.

I saw on the Toyota parts.com page that the Limited series, which includes the Nightshade, will not work with the Predator steps. Something about the Limited cladding/rocker causes interference. We are going to have to find some aftermarket ones that look like the Predator ones.
